Well I have seen RSS feeds on many websites and finally know what it means!! I did spend a lot of time sifting through sites that I wanted info from. I like that you can select websites that you regularly visit, but have them "come to you" with information that is relevant to your position in the workplace or on a personal level, information that you are interested in receiving. Who hates the junk emails? Meeee!! I would rather receive emails that are of interest, instead of delete, delete, delete! As I have only just set the subscriptions up, it will be interesting to see how much information comes pouring through, at least it will be interesting!! Can anyone tell me why the "post date and time" is incorrect? It isn't really 1:11!
RSS feeds I have added:
Bobbin lace: http://www.bobbinlacepassion.com/index.php/feed/
Powerhouse Museum: http://feeds.feedburner.com/PHM-PhotoOfTheDay
Thrill the World: http://thrilltheworld.com/feed/
Unshelved: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Unshelfeed
Swan Libraries: http://swanlibraries.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
I was going to say, who was doing there blog at 1 in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI have found that the RSS feeds feed me too much sometimes, which can be annoying and also results on delete delete delete.
To change the date and time settings you need to edit your blog, select the "settings" tab, then select "formatting". Scroll down the window to the date and correct it, continue to scroll down to time zone and select your appropriate time zone eg GMT + 08:00 Western Time Zone for Perth.
ReplyDeleteI was also like you and wondered what the little orange things were as well, so I have this course to thank for educating me on that.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the time issues as well - thanks for answering that little question. I guess you could see how RSS feeds could become a little bit of a problem with just way to much information. Very time consuming to go through it all, pressing delete, delete, delete!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to change the time settings on my blog too. I noticed it was wrong but didn't know I had to set the day and time. It seems odd that you would even need to set the time and day. Is there some reason why they aren't set automatically from your computer clock?
ReplyDeleteWell it is certainly interesting to see how many RSS feeds come in daily...hundreds. However, I like the format of some of the RSS feeds because I can quickly scan headlines and read information without the need to scroll - marked as read, quickly move onto the next and read in depth if I chose to.
